    So what is hot yoga?

Hot Yoga is a sequence of postures and breathing exercises done in our heated studio.  The sequence is designed to stretch and strengthen all of your body to give you maximum benefits.  The warmth of the studio allows your muscles to relax and stretch more deeply in the practice, while reducing the risk of injury or strain by keeping them supple.  Your heart and respiratory system work more, improving your cardiovascular health and boosts your metabolism.

What can I expect to feel?
    • After your first class you will feel energised and refreshed
    • After your first week of classes you will start to notice small changes such as being a little more flexible and feeling more calm in your day to day movements
    • After your first month of classes you will notice that you are feeling stronger, your body is starting to really change as you see less body fat and more lean muscle
    • Your friends start commenting on how your skin looks nourished and glowing
    • You feel confident
    • With a regular practice you will improve your heart, lung and bone health, among many other ongoing health benefits.
    Can I book a class?

Yes, of course you can! We would love you to join us for your first class, and many more classes in the future.

To book your first class with us you can use our website or our GloFox app, and find the best class time for you.  You can also call us directly, or drop into the studio and come and see us.

    Do I need anything special?

You don’t need much, or anything fancy, for your first class.  You will want to wear some comfortable clothing, women tend to wear leggings or cycling style shorts and sports top, and men tend to wear shorts and a t-shirt based on their personal preference.

All of our classes include the use of a yoga mat, but you are welcome to bring and use your own if you have one.  If you are using a studio mat, you will want a towel to cover the mat during your practice, a beach towel or a large bath towel will work fine.  We do also have towels available for rent at the studio.

Finally you will want to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated during your class, and your excitement to get sweaty!

    Tips for your first class
    Be hydrated

Being prepared will mean you have a more enjoyable class, so make sure to drink water throughout the day before your class.  Little and often will help your body be hydrated enough before you step into the studio.  Make sure to bring a bottle of water to sip on during class also.

    Be early

Try to arrive at least 15-20 minutes early for your first class, so we can show you around the studio, discuss what your first class will be like, and complete any paperwork we need to before you start.

    Dress well

You will want to be dressed appropriately, in comfortable sports clothing, that is not loose fitting.  Women tend to wear sports leggings or shorts and sports tops, while men prefer sports shorts and optional t-shirt (based on preference)

    Enjoy your class

Your teacher is there to help you as they lead the class.  Follow along as much as you are able, taking breaks if you need them.  Let your body adjust to the heat and do not push yourself, remember the heat can take a class or two to get adjusted to.

At the end of your class, don’t rush away.  Enjoy the final savasana if you have a few minutes to spare.  You will feel amazing afterwards.

After your class it is just as important to hydrate your body.  You will have sweat a lot, so drinking something with electrolytes, such as coconut water, is a great way to treat your body.

You are more than welcome to ask any of our teachers any questions that you might have after your class, as well as book yourself in for your next class so that you can start seeing and feeling the benefits of your new hot yoga practice.
