We were born out of a passion for our hot yoga practice, and we have put together a space that allows every person that comes to the studio to experience hot yoga how it is supposed to be.
Our studio is fitted with infrared heating panels designed to simulate a natural hot and dry environment, and in doing so give you an optimal experience in your class. Our panels work by heating your body, rather than the space, which allows not only your body to feel more relaxed but the air to feel clean and unstuffy, so that you leave your practice feeling soothed and revitalised.
With all of our teachers having practiced hot yoga for many years, we are keenly aware of the many benefits that practicing in a hot room can provide, and we are wanting to share these with the North East, as we create a space for people to come together and create a community of friends.
Taking my first Bikram class in 2010, the rhythm and routine of the practice immediately captured my attention, and soon I was practicing daily after work. Delving deeper into the world of hot yoga after noticing both the physical and mental benefits, lead me to my first teacher training in 2017, and I continue to learn as much as I can.
After being away from the North East for over 10 years, I was excited to come back and bring the practice that helped me as I moved through jobs, countries and continents for so long, opening Hot Yoga Newcastle in 2020.
I like to take a more functional approach to my classes, as I believe that the practice should be fit to the body, not the body to the practice.
I fell in love with yoga when I took my first vinyasa class in 2017. After stepping away from a school teaching career to run my own small business and raise my daughters, I looked for a new challenge and yoga provided the perfect platform.
I love the eclectic fusion of the physical practice of asana with the mindfulness and spirituality of yogic philosophy. It is this journey that inspires me to share my passion with others in a fun and laid back way.
My classes give you the opportunity to explore a more dynamic, yet calming, breath led practice flowing from one posture to the next. This is the perfect combination for those of all levels looking to get to the heart of yoga, tone the body and calm the mind.
I have spent the majority of my years as a dancer before finding Yoga. What began as a meditation practice many years ago to nurture my mind and overall well-being developed into a physical Yoga practice where I found for the first time the opportunity to turn inward and find presence while moving.
I am trained in Rocket, Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga. All of my classes offer an equal balance of grounding stability, a chance to hit pause on the external world of responsibilities and tend to yourself for a while, as well some spicy challenges to help you move beyond the ego, find progression and most importantly PLAY!
While being mindful of alignment and breath I like to encourage a playful approach to practice, reminding you to come as you are and listen to your needs, knowing this may change day to day, moment to moment.
Coming from the beautiful country of Myanmar, I have come to call Newcastle my second home after I spent the last few years completing my Law studies.
I started my yoga journey in 2017, finding love in the strength and challenge of an Ashtanga practice. Looking to deepen both my knowledge and practice, I took my first teacher training in 2020, and have trained under Little Yoga Studio in Myanmar, and Aadi Yoga School in India.
As I teach, I continue to find enjoyment in sharing my understanding with others, always learning and developing new skills and teaching methods. My classes are built around a traditional base, but always contain a playful element as I encourage you to explore postures that you may not have done before.
Born and bred with a love for the North East, I discovered the holistic, wellbeing, and additional benefits of feeling great with yoga through my personal practice. Stepping back from a teaching career I choose to focus on teaching yoga, and leading small retreats across the North East.
I love to teach creative flows that connect movement to breath, and help students to de-stress from their busy minds and everyday chaos.
Combining lyrical flows and relaxation with a focus on flexibility, my classes are a perfect contrast to everyday life.
I’m Amy and originally from Northern Ireland but after a few pit stops, I settled in North Shields, Newcastle in 2018. I love living in the North East – the people are fantastic and definitely my favourite thing about living here.
My first Yoga class was in 2010 in Sydney and since then I haven’t looked back. I have completed over 900 hours of Yoga Teacher Training (Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Hatha and Kundalini) in Newcastle, London, Bali and India.
Until 2022 I was a full time Primary School Teacher but fancied a change in direction so decided to go full time into teaching yoga!
In most of my classes and workshops I try to sprinkle elements of fun, play & challenge. That being said, I get that there are times when we just want to lie on the floor for an hour. Whatever your mindset or energy levels, you’re welcome to come along and take/leave what you need.
For me, yoga began as a way to keep moving, expressing, and creating with my body when dance was no longer possible during the pandemic. What started as a physical practice soon became a doorway into something much deeper.
As a psychologist, I’ve spent years exploring the human mind and the power of healing through words. Yet, through yoga, I discovered the missing piece, the wisdom of the body, the silence between thoughts, the connection that goes beyond language.
My classes are strong, progressive, and dynamic, rooted in a creative Vinyasa flow. Each sequence is an invitation to explore authenticity through movement. I guide with gentle and inclusive language, offering challenges that encourage curiosity rather than pressure, and creating a space where students feel safe to meet themselves as they are.
When I teach, I hope to remind people that growth doesn’t come from striving for perfection, but from learning to support and hold themselves with compassion, both on and off the mat.
With a love for calisthenics, I have been teaching and practicing yoga, amongst other movement disciplines for several years now.
You can expect a pacey flow from my classes, getting your body moving with plenty of opportunity to play, melting into some deeper finishing postures to help reconnect to your body, breath and moment.
I first started taking yoga classes in 2014 when I was looking for a low impact exercise to help after developing self described ‘crunchy knees’ from running.
Instantly falling in love with hot yoga I continued to practice regularly before taking my teacher training in 2016, and then running my own classes at a variety of local venues. This passion continued to grow and I left a successful career in logistics to pursue teaching yoga full time.
Relocating from Milton Keynes to the North East a few years ago I have been continuing to offer classes at a variety of local venues around Northumberland, and has also been getting back into my hot yoga practice.
